This course is designed for front line phone and counter personnel. This 4 day course teaches Spanish language and Hispanic/Latino culture for more effective communication with the Spanish-speaking community. Increase communication and reduce liability! This course serves as a prerequisite or entry course for NTA’s 40 hrs. POST approved Basic Conversational L.E. Spanish also being offered in 2011!
  • Alphabet, Counting, Days of the Week
  • Months of the Year, Time, Everyday Short Phrases (ESP)
  • Controlling conversations and obtaining the information you need
  • Important Hispanic/Latino cultural tips
  • Domestic Violence/Disturbing the Peace
  • Missing Persons / Vehicle Theft / Referral to other agencies and resources
  • Obtaining full identifying information
  • Dealing with suspects, victims, witnesses and “involved others”
  • Determining what type of incident may have occurred
  • Determining if an incident is criminal or civil
  • Getting the answers you need and can understand
