Noland Training Academy was founded by and is operated by John Noland.  John has 25 years of law enforcement experience. He has worked patrol, investigations, traffic, a special street team, SWAT, FTO, and instructed law enforcement personnel in a variety of subjects for over 20 years. John promoted to the rank Sergeant where he supervised patrol personnel and later a detective unit where investigations with Spanish-speaking people was common.  John now holds the rank of Lieutenant and has worked in the patrol division where he supervised several patrol teams, Sergeants and the Field Training Program.  John is currently assigned to the Special Services Division where he manages the Professional Standards, Volunteers and Training Units. He also manages annual department bilingual Spanish testing for employees.

John holds Bachelor degrees in both Spanish and Occupational Studies. He has studied abroad and also learned Spanish via real life experiences in both his professional and private life. He understands from first hand knowledge the different hurdles adult learners face with learning a new language. John knows there is more than one way to learn and more than one way to teach. At NTA a variety of teaching techniques are employed so students enjoy success. John is a motivating and energetic instructor whose primary goal is to make sure students learn.
